River: Bitcoin Could Power the Next Era of U.S. Growth

River’s 2025 report highlights Bitcoin’s role in U.S. economic leadership, citing institutional dominance, mining strength, and state-level crypto legislation as key growth pillars.

Institutional Momentum Positions the U.S. as a Bitcoin Leader

On May 20, River published the America Report 2025, asserting that the U.S. is uniquely positioned to lead the global digital asset economy. Over 40% of adults under 40 have used or invested in Bitcoin. Additionally, 29% of small businesses are considering using BTC for treasury diversification.

The report emphasized the U.S.’s advanced Bitcoin infrastructure: multiple spot ETF launches by major asset managers, institutional-grade custodianship, and corporate BTC adoption. U.S.-based firms reportedly manage over 75% of global Bitcoin ETF assets, with Coinbase Custody safeguarding more than 900,000 BTC.

Mining Dominance and Policy Support Amplify the Edge

River noted that over 38% of the global Bitcoin hashrate originates from the U.S., nearly double the share of the next closest country. Publicly listed mining firms are expanding domestic capacity and helping balance electricity grids through responsive power usage.

The report also explored the sociocultural impact. States like Florida and Tennessee are attracting capital through tax incentives and pro-Bitcoin laws. These “Bitcoin corridors” offer legal protection for mining and custody operations.

Bitcoin Seen as Strategic Reserve for the U.S.

Framing Bitcoin as a modern counterpart to gold, River predicts it could become a key pillar of future U.S. economic policy. The report highlights strong grassroots adoption from young people and small businesses concerned about inflation, complementing institutional integration.

This three-tier integration — retail, industrial, and financial — positions Bitcoin as a long-term strategic asset for American prosperity.
