Public Companies Now Hold $57B in Bitcoin

According to Bitwise, public companies boosted their bitcoin holdings by 16% in Q1 2025. Total reserves reached 688,000 BTC, with 12 new firms joining the list of corporate holders.

Q1 2025 Sees Sharp Rise in Bitcoin Reserves

Bitwise analysts report that public firms added 95,431 BTC in the first quarter of 2025. This increase equals around $56.7 billion. Overall, corporate reserves have now hit 688,000 BTC.

New Corporate Bitcoin Investors

At least 12 companies added bitcoin to their balance sheets for the first time. The largest newcomer was Hong Kong construction firm Ming Shing. It acquired 833 BTC via its subsidiary Lead Benefit — 500 BTC in January and 333 BTC in February.

Another new entrant was video platform Rumble, which bought 188 BTC in March.

Growing Institutional Adoption

Bitwise noted that the number of publicly listed firms holding bitcoin has now reached 79. This marks continued momentum in corporate crypto adoption.

As more companies embrace digital gold for diversification and innovation, this trend is likely to expand further in Q2 2025.
