Norway: Residents Celebrate Shutdown of Noisy Bitcoin Mining Farm

Residents of the small town of Stokmarknes in Norway are celebrating the closure of the KryptoVault mining farm due to bankruptcy. The farm had prompted numerous complaints about noise comparable to a sawmill, operating 24 hours a day.

Local authorities received dozens of complaints from the 3,500 residents, who had to close windows to sleep. Despite government plans to regulate mining, it was financial difficulties that led to KryptoVault’s closure.

This event highlights the challenges faced by mining companies amid declining profitability and the impact of their operations on local communities.
