According to BBC reports, Gridless is helping African locales once deemed too remote for power grids. With mining profits, the firm builds mini-hydropower stations and solar facilities. As a result, total electricity capacity in several distant areas has grown by 30% over the past two years.

Experts note that this model unites generation and crypto mining to create an extra revenue stream for operators, enabling lower tariffs for local communities and partially funding public projects. African governments have already received more than $10 mln through local investment schemes.
