Microsoft: mining of cryptocurrencies using web services is prohibited

Such conditions are included in the new licensing rules of December 1, 2022. This requirement applies to all services that are hosted by the company.

Microsoft notes that web services are not allowed to be used for mining purposes. Written permission is required to perform such processes. It applies to both customers and individuals who access the services through them.

This information is also published in the company’s “Summary of Changes” section. So far, there have been no comments from the technology giant explaining why this ban has been introduced. Moreover, there is no indication of the circumstances under which cryptocurrency mining is allowed.

Earlier, the hoster Hetzner, having previously notified about the ban on transactions, disabled 1 thousand Solana’s validators, while blocking more than 20% of the transactions of stacking.
