Merge Activates EMI & VASP Licenses for Stablecoin Payments

Merge activates its EMI and VASP licenses in France, enabling fully regulated stablecoin and fiat payments for seamless global transactions via one unified API.

Merge receives dual regulatory approval for global payments

London-based fintech Merge has officially activated its Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license and Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration. The licenses, granted by France’s ACPR and AMF, mark a major step in Merge’s expansion.

With both approvals, Merge joins a select group of providers regulated to handle fiat and blockchain-based payments. This allows businesses to process transactions in both traditional currencies and stablecoins under full compliance.

Simplifying global money movement for businesses

Merge’s platform now supports global companies with services like fund collection, cross-border payments, and currency conversion between fiat and digital assets. The infrastructure addresses common problems such as delays, high fees, and poor transparency in international transfers.

For businesses operating in complex financial environments, Merge offers a scalable and compliant solution. Whether settling invoices, repatriating funds, or paying suppliers, companies can streamline operations through one integrated system.

Merge provides a single API that includes multi-currency accounts, real-time payments, SWIFT connectivity, sub-accounts, and FX services. These features enable full automation of global treasury functions and payment workflows.

Merge leadership highlights stablecoin opportunity

“This is a major leap in borderless payments,” said Kebbie Sebastian, Merge’s CEO. “We’re merging stablecoins with real-time payment rails, eliminating legacy system friction.”

Michael Burtscher, COO of Merge, added: “With EMI and VASP licenses, Merge delivers the regulatory foundation companies need to confidently adopt stablecoin-powered payments at scale.”

With full regulatory clearance, enterprise-grade infrastructure, and a unified API, Merge is positioned to lead the next phase of real-time, global commerce.
