MARA beats Q2 estimates with $238M revenue and BTC surge

MARA Holdings posts 64% YoY revenue growth and $808M profit on Bitcoin gains. Company partners with TAE Power and PADO AI for future AI infrastructure.

Strong Q2 results driven by Bitcoin appreciation and increased production

Bitcoin miner MARA Holdings outperformed analyst projections in Q2 2025, posting $238 million in revenue — up 64% from $145 million a year ago and up from $214 million in Q1. Net income skyrocketed to $808 million, reversing a near $200 million loss in Q2 2024.

The major contributor to this gain was a $1.2 billion unrealized profit from Bitcoin appreciation, which climbed 31% over the quarter ending June 30.

MARA shares rise after earnings announcement

Following the earnings release, MARA Holdings shares jumped 7.5% in after-hours trading to $17.82 before settling at $17.22. The regular session ended at $16.61, down 3.2% on the day.

Despite sideways trading for much of 2025, MARA shares are now up 58% since mid-April, showing renewed investor confidence. The company has steadily grown its position as a leading institutional Bitcoin holder.

BTC holdings, hashrate and focus on AI infrastructure

MARA’s Bitcoin holdings surpassed 50,000 BTC shortly after Q2, solidifying its role as the second-largest public BTC holder after Strategy. The firm mined 2,358 BTC in Q2, a 3% increase from Q1’s 2,286.

Hashrate also increased to 57.4 EH/s, with a target of 75 EH/s by year-end. As of June, MARA’s BTC holdings totaled 49,951 BTC worth $5.87 billion.

Looking ahead, MARA announced strategic partnerships with TAE Power Solutions (backed by Google) and PADO AI (supported by LG) to co-develop energy-efficient, load-balancing platforms tailored for future AI data centers.

CEO Fred Thiel emphasized the value of vertical integration, a growing treasury, and early AI investments in enhancing MARA’s long-term position.
