Major mining organizations sold off almost 100% of bitcoin mined last year?

Tom Dunleavy – senior analyst at Messari – noted in his tweet that bitcoin miners sold almost 100% of mined BTC. This, in turn, could not but affect the change in the price of the first world cryptocurrency.

The expert believes that since the beginning of last year, ten mining firms have mined 40,700 bitcoin units. And sold about 40,300 BTC.

Last year was the first time that the mining community encountered virtual coin mining companies starting to liquidate their reserves so hastily.  This trend did not subside in mid-summer of 2022. It was only by September that the situation stabilized.

Marathon Digital and Hut 8, major mining companies, were among the few who kept their cool and continued to adhere to their virtual coin accumulation strategy. Riot Blockchain and HIVE, for their part, continued to maintain high positions in terms of BTC accumulation.

There was also controversy on Twitter under Tom Dunleavy’s post. Most users disagreed with the analyst’s arguments. Many noted that there wasn’t such a big surge in BTC sales. If you compare the figures provided by the expert with the daily bitcoin trading volume.

But another expert, Ari Paul (founder of BlockTower Capital), expressed support for Tom Dunleavy, saying that there is no need to rely so heavily on liquidity figures.
