Kentucky to review contracts with miners that provide cheap electricity

A special commission will look into the contracts because of concerns that reduced prices are driving up the electricity prices for households.

There are two miners with the contracts in question: Ebon International LLC and Bitki-KY. In addition to discounts, Bitki-KY was given a $250k tax loan.

The environmental legal group Earthjustice, which is conducting the audit, insists that such terms for the miners will lead to higher energy costs for the public. According to Earthjustice spokesman Thomas Kmar who is waiting for court hearings to begin so that all state residents can see what they’re paying for.

Hopefully, more attention will be paid to such things in the future. Mining requires too many sources, and yet is not regulated. It can cost too much.

In addition, the small number of jobs that miners are willing to provide was also mentioned.

Note that at a time when environmentalists are proving the need to move all mining to the PoS algorithm, the BTC Mining Council report reflects the perspective of zero emissions. It is because many BTC miners are using oil production for their work.
