Emirates to Accept Crypto Payments for Flights

Dubai’s Emirates Airline is partnering with Crypto.com to allow crypto payments. The move targets younger travelers and may roll out next year, making Emirates one of the first global airlines to support crypto.

Emirates Plans to Integrate Crypto.com Pay

Dubai-based Emirates Airline is preparing to enable cryptocurrency payments for its passengers through a preliminary partnership with leading exchange Crypto.com. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to explore the integration of Crypto.com Pay into Emirates’ payment systems.

If implemented, the initiative would allow customers to buy tickets using Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Cronos (CRO). The crypto payment feature could be introduced next year, positioning Emirates as one of the first global carriers to accept digital currencies.

Targeting Younger, Tech-Savvy Travelers

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the move is designed to meet changing customer expectations and attract younger, tech-focused audiences who prefer to pay with crypto.

Crypto.com Pay already serves millions of users in selected regions and supports several major cryptocurrencies. With over 80 million global users, Crypto.com is one of the fastest-growing platforms in the space.

Earlier this year, Dubai took a major step toward embracing crypto by signing a deal with Crypto.com to enable cryptocurrency payments for government services. The Emirates-Crypto.com initiative aligns with Dubai’s broader vision of becoming a global crypto hub with clear regulations and a pro-innovation environment.
