Confidential data about miners was leaked by SEC

The SEC released the information it received about the miners in violation of the Privacy Act.

The agency has been investigating Green, which created a decentralized energy system, for the past year. The regulator sent inquiries to consumers who used the blockchain company’s services. Green also cooperated with the agency and provided 650 customers with data via email. The result was an inadvertent leak.

It angered the miners, who claim that the information they received was enough to identify and perform an asic hack.

The Privacy Act, which was broken by the SEC, forbids the exchange and collection of information without consent. Collecting data via email is also not in compliance with the Act.
