Bitdeer Surpasses Riot to Become Fifth-Largest Bitcoin Miner

Bitdeer has overtaken Riot Platforms after boosting its proprietary hashrate to 35 EH/s through the expansion of SEALMINER rigs, joining the top five global public Bitcoin miners.

Bitdeer strengthens its position among global Bitcoin miners

Bitdeer Technologies Group announced a major increase in its self-mining capacity. According to the company’s Wednesday update, its operating hashrate rose from 30.3 EH/s in August to 35 EH/s in September, marking a 15.5% jump. Bitcoin production climbed 20.5% month-over-month, from 375 BTC to 452 BTC.

When adjusted for network difficulty, the realized hashrate surged from 24.64 EH/s to 32.74 EH/s — up 32.9%. At this scale, Bitdeer now ranks fifth among public Bitcoin miners, trailing only MARA, IREN, CleanSpark, and Cango.

SEALMINER expansion drives production growth

Bitdeer attributed the growth to the continued rollout of SEALMINER rigs and the completion of new site energizations in Tydal, Norway, and Jigmeling, Bhutan.
The company remains on track to reach 40 EH/s of self-mining capacity by the end of October and plans to retire older third-party units to improve fleet efficiency.

So far, Bitdeer has manufactured 34.2 EH/s worth of SEALMINER A2 rigs, with 22.6 EH/s deployed and another 5.5 EH/s in transit. In September, the firm launched mass production of its SEALMINER A3 series, dedicated to internal operations.

SEAL04 chip testing shows steady technological progress

In its chip development update, Bitdeer confirmed the first tape-out of its SEAL04 silicon.
Preliminary testing indicates sub-10 J/TH energy efficiency at the chip level — still above the 5 J/TH target, but representing measurable progress toward next-generation ASIC performance.

With continuous innovation and infrastructure expansion, Bitdeer is reinforcing its leadership in the Bitcoin mining industry, combining hardware excellence with global-scale operations.
