Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Skyrockets to New All-Time High Amidst Bullish Trends

Bitcoin mining just got tougher. New data released by BTC.com reveals a 6.47% increase in Bitcoin mining difficulty. The change occurred at block height 812,448, pushing the difficulty to a record-breaking 61.03 T, according to foresightnews.

Since mid-October 2022, the difficulty has surged by an astounding 71.4%. This uptick is more than just a number; it’s a sign of the growing interest and investment in the Bitcoin network.

However, the rise in difficulty comes with its own set of challenges. For miners, higher difficulty means lower profit margins unless Bitcoin’s price sees a corresponding increase. In fact, smaller mining operations may find it increasingly hard to stay afloat, potentially leading to further centralization of mining power among larger players.
