Bitcoin Mining Council summed up the results of miners for the fourth quarter of last year

BMC representatives shared the cryptocurrency mining results they received for the last quarter of 2022.

First of all, there was an increase in the amount of “green” energy used by miners. The share of such sources approached 60% and continues to grow.

It should be noted that the figures presented by BMC are quite representative, as miners, whose total share in the global hashrate is 48.4%, were studied. The study also showed a general trend for investment in mining equipment. This conclusion is based on the growth of power from 95 Eh to 119 Eh. Moreover, according to the findings, bitcoin mining efficiency has increased by 16%. If at the beginning of the year, this indicator was 19.3 Eh/gW, at the end it was 22.4 Eh/gW.

The ability of miners to cooperate with power grids and shut down devices during periods of peak demand has not been ignored. At the end of the last quarter, 14 major miners reduced demand by 1,280 GWh at times when the load on the grid increased dramatically. Note that the positive effect of cooperation with miners is also reflected in the report of the Committee on Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets, based in New Hampshire.
