Bitcoin Miner Revenues Decline by 19% Post-Halving in 2024

Since the Bitcoin halving event in April 2024, miners have seen a sharp decline in their revenues, with the block reward dropping from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC. This has led to a 19% decline in overall block reward revenue, now estimated at $37 billion for the next four years.

While this decline is significant, analysts at VanEck suggest that there are still substantial opportunities in the mining industry, particularly for companies that can efficiently manage their operations and find additional revenue streams. Bitcoin miners will need to adapt to these new market conditions by upgrading equipment and possibly expanding into other sectors such as AI processing to maintain profitability.
