Bitcoin Hashrate Reaches Record 693 EH/s, Drops 9.95% After a Week

On September 8, 2024, the Bitcoin network’s hashrate reached an all-time high of 693 exahashes per second (EH/s). This means that the network became the most secure in its history due to the record computational power.

However, nine days later, the hashrate decreased by 9.95% to 624 EH/s. This decline may be related to reduced mining profitability or technical maintenance at mining farms.

The hashrate surge coincided with a 3.58% increase in network difficulty on September 10, setting a new record for mining difficulty. Experts note that the increase in difficulty and hashrate indicates ongoing interest in Bitcoin mining.
