20,000 Bitcoin Millionaires Lost Status in First 100 Days of Trump

According to Finbold, 20,000 Bitcoin addresses lost millionaire status in early 2025 amid market uncertainty triggered by Trump’s trade policies and crypto volatility.
Tariff Shocks and Volatility Shake Bitcoin Wealth Holders
Between January 21 and April 30, 2025, the number of Bitcoin millionaire addresses dropped by 20,000, Finbold reported. The decline coincided with the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s second presidential term.
Analysts blame rising uncertainty linked to Trump’s aggressive tariff measures, which sparked a global trade war. Finbold compares this disruption to the Hawley–Smoot Tariff Act of 1930, suggesting potential risks of a modern Great Depression scenario.
Markets reacted strongly, with investors fearing capital flight and sharp corrections in major indices like the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq.
BTC Weakens While Gold Reaches New All-Time Highs
In March, Bitcoin struggled to hold the $80,000–$82,000 support range, adding pressure on digital asset holders. Meanwhile, gold surged to record highs, surpassing $3,000 and attracting risk-averse capital.
According to Finbold, the number of Bitcoin millionaires fell by an average of 233 addresses per day during the period.
However, Bitcoin rebounded in late April, jumping from $75,000 to just below $95,000. This upward movement helped limit deeper losses. For context, BTC was valued at $102,204 on January 21.
Finbold concludes that the decline in BTC millionaire wallets reflects a broader move away from speculative assets toward traditional long-term hedging tools.
