Authorities in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic have uncovered one of the region’s largest illegal farms, causing an estimated 4 million rubles in losses. The setup involved 186 ASIC machines running around the clock without proper electricity payments. Law enforcement revealed that the building was soundproofed to avoid detection.

Reports indicate two additional sites in the area, though on a smaller scale. Illegal miners often choose remote facilities and circumvent official power meters. Experts worry such operations could lead to outages and grid overload, especially during winter peaks.

As a result, the police have opened criminal cases, and investigations into the scope and real owners of the hardware are ongoing.
